If you decide to donate, CBMM, as Joe said, is a very good place. We auction (and sell beforehand, there is a listing on the web which people follow) about 100+ boats a year, and the program is viewed as one of the best.. I am a small part, mostly just fetching boats, but have been involved for years - we have a good reputation. You may want to wait and get the boat cleaned up - as our auction is on Labor Day weekend, and we are swamped right now and may not be able to detail the boat adequately to get the most from it. A couple of years ago, a well-equipped C&C 27-5 went cheap because every piece of wood on it was grey and ratty, at the same time, a 1984 Sabre 30 went big because it looked just the way it came from the factory, including dishes!

I live 7-8 hours away from my boat (it is in the Chesapeake and I am in central NY state). That is a long story in itself, but irrelevant. My boat (1982 C&C 32) has just had it rigging serviced or replaced as needed due to a yard incident and I have new floorboards that need their finishing (underside) completed, etc. etc. The boat means a lot to me and the family, but from what I hear, it is showing the fact it is neglected as we are not able to get down to the boat to keep her up. The boat hasn't been in the water since 2009. I don't want to, but am looking to part with the boat unless I can come up with another reasonable solution. I don't want to part with her unless it can go to a good home and/or donate it to a good cause. I have been told that she is worth less than $10,000 USD based on the Eastern shore of MD. Thoughts or interest?
