Peter:

My boat was hardly used a few years before I bought it in 2006.....I replaced both fuel filters that first year....upon removal, they looked pretty clean so I left the fuel tank alone. I have replaced both filters once since 2006 and might do it again this Spring. However, if you think you have dirty fuel then you probably have a dirty tank, address it by either a thorough cleaning or replace it.

If your stuffing box was 'replaced' or repacked in 2012, unless your boat has seen many many hours of engine hours, it should be fine.

Asking the list about window adhesives will get you many different responses. Do your windows have 'frames', screws, etc. That will call for one type of adhesive......if simply just set into the cabin sides that might call for a different adhesive. I replaced my windows about in 2009 and used Sika 295 UV with Sika Primer and they have held up.....my windows have no frames and/or screws.

Trusting this is helpful.

Hello group

Three questions

1 My boat has sat on hard for 3 years. Racor Fuel filter fuel was clear red.
Not dusky 1/2 to 3/4 full Removed all fuel and replaced with new diesel fuel
engine started fine.

It was suggested that I have fuel tank polished estimated cost is $570 before I
sail the boat from Newport ri to Portland Maine

My question is it worth it or is it better just to replace original fuel tank
with new fuel
Tank and if so plastic or aluminum

2 Next question stuffing box was replaced by yard in 2012. Do I need to do it
again before launch

3 Last question. All cabin top window I have had new ones made. What is the
best way to attach. I have seen use of 4200

Thanks

I changed the thermostat, the oven worked well for 2 years and then died with
different symptoms. Sure Marine was excellent to work with, only praise for
them. But I decided to move on and replaced it with a

ENO 3 burner which is great. Slightly smaller, so I had to make new side
blocks and rework the gimbal lock at the bottom.

So I’m trouble shooting my HilleRange oven and working with the guys over at
Sure Marine. Sounds like I may need to send them the thermostat for repair.

Anyone gone down this road? Are there other options out there, other than buy
a new oven?

Thanks,
