David is saying the truth…. There was a Swan which was crunched on some rocks on a jetty down south a number of years ago. The owner got the check after he knew how much repairs were going to be. The yard stripped the boat (it had a big hole in the side and had nearly sunk) of everything! Engine, all electrical, tanks, etc… Built a new boat into the hull – (after just a few hours in the water, they found corrosion in the wiring 10-15 feet away from any damage – it spreads like fire!). He ended up with a great “brand new” boat which matched his excellent set of sails and other rigging. And re-designed to make it better than new. But…. Great craftsmanship, knowledgeable owner and yard, and a year’s worth of work.
This one appears to have been damaged so long ago that the basic shell of the boat is compromised, as well as all the rest of the systems. Pretty, but a lot of bondo!
