I see the screws in the side of the mast. Your mast step may extend up into the base of the mast and is held by those screws. Is there access to those screws on the other side of the mast?
If you remove only the 4 hex heads that hold the step plate down the question becomes will the step plate fit through the deck? Wouldn't hurt to remove the screws in the side of the mast and see if the extrusion slides off the step plate. Dennis C.
