Adding a deck fitting and a shorter?? run of hose may be easier and less aggravating than the Y-valve option.
I wouldn't think twice about adding a deck fitting. Been there, done that. If you have a nice clear location in a nearby cabinet, punch the hole, epoxy coat any balsa core, overbore and fill the deck fitting fastener holes and done deal. Dennis C.
