David, 
I upgraded my instruments on both Peregrine, my C&C 40, and Masquerade and have 
been very glad I did. The quality and the amount of information on the new gear 
available is terrific and considerable. I use my radar and AIS all the time. 
On Peregrine, I used the old Raymarine instruments and got a new plotter and 
radar and adapted the instruments to interface. I got them on sale and it was 
relatively economical. They worked well. I should have bought a larger size 
plotter, though
On Masquerade I went for a whole new B&G package, which is much higher quality 
than the Raymarine. I put a 12” plotter at the wheel. The B&G was a 
considerably greater expense, but I’m very very happy I spent the money. Here
