First off, I would call Forespar and ask them, they make them.
My understanding is that the clear coat that is already on it protects the carbon fiber. A polish will help protect the factory clear coat. Painting it white, would be like putting pants over your coveralls. Putting a clear coat over the white would be like putting another pair of pants over the pants over your coveralls. Clear coated carbon fiber products require periodic recoating to protect against UV damage. Depending on geographical area levels of U.V. exposure, recoating may be needed annually. Recoating can be applied using High Gloss Clear #G3005 and #G3010 converter. Forespar strongly recommends white Awlgrip coating if poles are to be stored on deck or up the mast. Or should I use a cloth cover in addition to the paint/clearcoat? Thanks again; Richard s/v Bushmark4: 1985 C&C 37 CB; Ohjo River, Mile 596 Richard N.
