I removed and cleaned the carb on our mercury 2.5 / 4 stroke. It runs and idles fine but will only rev about half way. I bought a rebuild kit and installed. Same. Ordered new carb. I think all the small engines are Chinese. And a lot are the same except badging and plastic. Like Home Depot lawn tractors. Jon
