Jeff, There was even talk about putting the weather station on one of the buoys (!). Fortunately, cool heads prevailed.
Btw. there is a PWS that reports that it is right in the middle of the Lac Deschenes (https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IOTTAW95). A few of us tried to find it at its coordinates, but nobody, so far, was successful. I think NSC had something like this many years ago, was located on one of the towers of the main clubhouse that no longer exist. Lighthouse will be an excellent choice for location.
