You can use a 3M stripper wheel. Others on this list can probably provide the proper name for it. Is basically like a white pencil eraser that is wheel shaped and used with a cordless drill. Worked very well for me to remove former home port off Persistence

A heat gun and a sharp scraper are your friends. The heat gun will loosen the adhesive on the vinyl and then you can get a scraper or razor edged scraper in underneath to peel it off.
