I dont think it is a logical/ $ option on our boat.

I decided to have some fun and replaced my wire babystay with dyneema, i added 
a dyneema sleeve for chaffe protection. Been 3 years and everything looks new. 
Also made dyneema lifelines and would consider it for backstay. But i will 
stick to rod for shrouds.

Why use PBO shrouds?

  *   Lighter weight aloft → reduces heeling, improves performance.

  *   Very low stretch → keeps the rig tension more consistent, which improves 
sail shape and power.

  *   Stronger than steel for the same diameter.

Downside:

PBO is UV sensitive and has a limited lifespan (often 3–5 years on racing boats 
before replacement is recommended). It also needs protective covers and regular 
inspection for damage.
