I checked difference between Server ISO and Desktop ISO.
Desktop ISO does NOT contain base-files_4.0.4ubuntu2_i386.deb .
UbuntuImporter class (action_import.py) uses this base-files_*.deb
for telling version information.

I tried to find another file for telling version.
.disk/info text file contains these information.

    Desktop ISO .disk/info
    Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" - Release i386 (20081029.5)

    Server ISO .disk/info
    Ubuntu-Server 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" - Release i386 (20081028.1)

or README.diskdefines file.
    #define DISKNAME  Ubuntu-Server 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" - Release i386
    #define DISKNAME  Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" - Release amd64

8.04 Hardy Heron iso, also these files exist and like this;
    Ubuntu 8.04.2 "Hardy Heron" - Release i386 (20090121)

I couldn't check if all past Ubuntu distribution iso contains these files.
But, if all distribution contains .disk/info or README.diskdefines,
how about using these files to check os_version ?

Thanks.
