Stopped by Lagerman Reservoir in Longmont again this evening to look for more migratory excitement. Nothing notable, but one of the Osprey there seems to have a large bundle of orange string/filament caught on its right leg. This is presumably the male, since its mate was on the nest platform. I'm doubtful anything can be done to help free him of the string since he seems quite mobile; I watched as he caught a fish, devoured it, and proceeded to the shoreline for some post-dinner bathing. But I thought I'd mention it here just in case.
At any rate, when I'm in that area, I'll certainly keep watching him for signs of distress.
