My friend Sarah Burbank and I birded Doudy Draw yesterday morning.    Some of 
the changes to the area are unfortunate...but we still had a good birdy day 
with 36 species total.  Highlight for us was an Indigo Bunting.  We also saw 5 
species of sparrows.  The song sparrows were duking it out for territory which 
was something I hadn't seen before.  Below is a list of what we saw.  
Conspicuously absent were Flickers and Downys.  We didn't see or hear any at 
all.  We went over to South Mesa, too, but didn't add anything to the list-was 
kind of quiet there.
