Today (1/27) at about 11:15 a.m., a Northern Pygmy-Owl was in crotch of a young
cottonwood, on north side of Colo. Hwy 112, a couple of miles east of County
Line Rd. (Alamosa/Rio Grande County). It was not there on my return trip at
about 1:30 p.m. Also along CO Hwy 112, I saw 3 Bald Eagles just north of Del
Norte with 2 remaining on my return trip. Also 1 Cooper's Hawk and 1
Rough-legged Hawk between Center and Hooper. Fields are snowy and cold in the
San Luis Valley.
