COBirders,
I made a quick stop at Pueblo Reservoir late this afternoon and on the road
into the north side SWA there was a VESPER SPARROW working the roadside.
Certainly not something I was expecting to see today.  I also counted 129
Bonaparte's Gulls.  There easily could have been more further west as there
were a lot more gulls in that direction that I just could not positively ID.  I
did not bird any other part of the reservoir.
While in Fremont county seeing family I checked out a couple of spots and found
a few things of interest.  At Tunnel Drive there were at least 2 Rufous-crowned
Sparrows and 5 Lesser Goldfinches.  I saw 2 male Williamson Sapsuckers at
locations that have not been mentioned in Cañon City but certainly could be
just other feeding locations.  There was also a Say's Phoebe in Cañon City.
There were a number of Evening Grosbeaks in both Cañon and Florence.  On
Thanksgiving Day I saw a male Red-naped Sapsucker at Lion's Park which is 1 of
at least 2 sapsuckers working that park.
