Hi COBirders, Hey, I had some migrants today! Despite the strong northerly gusts against the foothills here, there was more movement today than I've been seeing. Non-raptor highlights - 4 different flocks of W Bluebirds zoomed by; an FOS Audubon's-YR Warbler zoomed by; and the noisy dozen W Scrub Jays I've been watching for a month were mostly silent, and instead of flying by in flocks, I only saw one skulking through the oaks carrying nesting material. Maybe it's spring!
Raptors seen today (10:30-1:15) local Red-tailed Hawk - 1 (haven't seen the usual bunch for several days now - gone?) Sharp-shinned Hawk 4 (including m and f together) Turkey Vulture - 3 (real high over the Scar) Am Kestrel - 1 (like most everything else - zooming by) plus a dozen White-throated Swifts - but not until later, and 10 Com Raven - five zooming by (into the wind), and wandering slowly, south again, with the wind (?). Good birding, Steve Brown Colorado SPrings -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
