COBIRDERS,
Yesterday (late morning) Dick Prickett and I were searching the Hayman
Burn area just north of Cheesman Reservoir at 7,500 ft. for woodpeckers
when we heard a familiar song. There were two Western Meadowlarks flying,
feeding, and singing in the formerly forested area, now grassland. What a
surprise.
We also found one Red-headed Woodpecker, 5 to 6 Lewis's,
Yellow-rumpeds, many Western and some Mt. Bluebirds, territorial Kestrels,
cavity
building Flicker, Green-tailed Towhee, and others.
     A good day! - Chris
