This weekend we were finally able to make it over to our cabin in Forbes Park...always a welcome treat...no phone, computer or television...so despite high winds we were able to get in some quality birding time. Highlights included: A pair of Pine Grosbeaks Cassin's Finch A lone Red Crossbill Dusky Flycatcher Ruby-crowned Kinglet Swainson's Thrush Black-chinned Hummingbird
In addition there were lots of: American Robins Chipping Sparrows White-crowned Sparrows Dark-eyed Juncos Yellow-rumped Warblers Green-tailed Towhees Pine Siskins Broad-tailed Hummingbirds were displaying...we counted 6 males doing their aerobatics Western Tanagers Mountain Bluebirds 1 Townsend's Solitaire Red-naped Sapsucker Downy Woodpecker Northern Flicker Cordilleran Flycatcher Violet-green Swallows Red-tailed Hawk American Kestrel House Wrens are busy building a nest on our porch as they have for the past 10 years All in all a great weekend!
