This morning between about 8:30 and 10AM, 4 birders (Dan Brooke, Jan Swarm,
Bill Maynard and I) saw the female Least Bittern make 4-5 trips across the
marsh. Many thanks to Bill, who got us in the right location on the south
shore to see the bird (if you go, walk about halfway down the south side of
the marsh to the largest open area of water that's near the shore, but
rimmed by reeds). At one point she was harassed by an Eastern Kingbird,
which drove her into the marsh.
