hi Cobirders. There has been a Pink-sided Junco coming to my thistle seed feeder yesterday and today. it stays on it for a while
and looks real healthy.

This morning from the kitchen window I looked down on the ground under the Chokecherry tree . There was a Coopers Hawk eating a bird with its legs showing. I suspect an immature blackbird. There had been quite a scuffle all around the scene.
Not much left and the hawk took off with the remnants.

The winter solstice comes at 10:30PM today and the snow is already falling in the area. It is expected to last over night and
into the morning. Maybe something else new will show up here.

I wish all a very Jolly Christmas and better weather for the remaining CBCs.
