Sun July 22nd 7 pm While at Corinthean Hill (above Lake Dillon) as I checked-on
BB pair and their 2nd nesting I had the pleasure of siting the following: pair
of Violet Green Swallows Sidebar: I have a VGS nest elsewhere on my BB Trail
with 4 nestlings and as of this evening the adults are still feeding them.
This nest is the first in 7 yrs so it's like old times. Now with the 2 at
Corinthean Hill, that makes 4 in the area. 1 Cliff Swallow on telephone wire -
this bird is so awesomely beautiful; such a joy watching them gather mud in
their little beaks; wings flapping and butts in the air along the lakeshore.
pair of Tree Swallows with 4 newly-fledged young on fence. One of the
fledglings was definitely a prev hole-hog looking like it never missed a meal.
The 3 remaining fledges were decidedly smaller. The adults were gathering food
on the wing and diving down to shove it down their throats. Wonderful scene.
So much evil in the world, thank God for the birds. Bonnie BoexDillon
