Names can be chosen for metavariables that are applied by the processing for the
semantic patch language. The uses of these names are not especially marked in
the corresponding patch code so far.

I see a potential difficulty because of that when I would like to assure that
identifiers from the SmPL transformation specification are not in conflict with
the same ones from the C source code in the patch code. Can anything be made
safer for the involved name selection?
