We got our cockapoo in 7 months ago, and he was our first dog.  I couldn't have made a better decision.  I did a lot of reading before we picked out a dog, and after we picked him, I did alot of reading about how to take care of him.  He is smart, funny, intellegent and nothing but a joy to have around.  We took him to obedience as soon as we could, more for me than for him, and he caught on very quickly.  He's very social with people and animals, and not really afraid of anything as far as noises, vacuum, and all the other things I read they'd fear.

He's almost 10 months and just 16 pounds.  The vet does not think he will get much bigger.  His dad was a miniature poodle, also. Non shedding, non allergenic, and he's not stinky either, like some dogs are.
Pepper is not a huge barker, but has more of a cocker voice when he does (Thank God!).

I can't believe how well he's fit into our family, and can't believe I didn't do this sooner!

It's been a lot of work but so worth it!  Good luck in your choice and whatever you decide - they'll find their way into your heart quite quickly.

I have been thinking about getting our first dog for our family and was
considering a cockapoo.  I was interested in them because they are
supposed to be non shedding and good for people with allergies.  How
are they with barking.  I know some little dogs are yippers and wanted
to know how cockapoos behave.
Also since I have never owned a dog I was wondering the best places in
the Cleveland area to find one.  I have been checking the shelters but
usually they are bigger dogs there.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
