healthiest dogs and respectable litters can have these
stones and need surgery.  I've been told that
Typically breeders offer a refund of 50% of vet costs
(not including normal shots) the first 3 months...
maybe he'd consider it.  

Good luck and start focusing on the wonderful addition
to your family and positives he brings.  (A year ago
when I got my pup she had some health issues too, but
now has been healthy and loving.)
