Yes, I'm aware of the IB target setting.

If you still want to target Tiger this is a BIG surprise that these are now treated as errors.

The really big question for me is how do you deal with 2 buttons that lie one on top of the other but are never drawn at the same time (setHidden) Do you have to re-jigger everything because IB can't fathom that they might not be visible at the same time? Could you comment on this please - this is a potential real quagmire for me…

Nib deployment targets are actually set in the nibs, not the project. If you still want to target Tiger, you should fix the errors, since overlapping views are hit-and-miss on Tiger. Alternately, if you want to switch to targeting Leopard, then you can do it by clicking on the info toolbar button in IB and switching the deployment target there.
