actually, that's what the 7 means ;)
and dare we talk about the 3rd optional parameter? 00:00 means to start
each new log at midnite. if you say -r00:00,7,60 it will create a new log
every 60 minutes, the benefit being it can be a lot quicker to play back
the data when you're looking at 11PM because collectl can jump right to the
smaller file that contains your data rather than having to start at
midnight.
in hindsight I'm not sure whY you even need the time, but when I wrote
collectl I tRied to port as much functionality from collect on Tru64 as I
could and that's the option it had.
