In the spirit of full disclosure 8-), collectl really doesn't require hires
or compression but w/o hires you might lose a few msec in your rate
calculations (not necessarily a big deal) but it could result in things
like disk/network rates being off a little. As for compression I think
that's more important because it can reduce the size of the collectl logs
in the order of 90% and even with disk space relatively free, one never
knows how much you really want to spend on logs.
