Hello Bernhard and everybody,

Allright, I'll start with Georgian NL and hopefully other NLs will follow too :)

If we decide reserve hard-enamel pins for project members, then
Georgian NL will probably order:

For project members: 30 Hard enamel pins, design _C_
For marketing: 200 Soft enamel design _D_

If we decide that soft enamel is better option than offset printing,
than the order would be

For project members: 30 Hard enamel pins, design _B_
For marketing: 200 soft enamel design C pins

For this purpose, Georgian NL considers to spend about EUR 100.

Have we cleared the VAT issues? Normally, the countries outside the EU
are not eligible to VAT when order is made in EU country, but the
order destination is outside the EU. But if the collective order is
being placed from Germany, I guess we should all pay VAT in affect in
Germany?

That's what I've been told. We (as de-project) manage money-related topics with our non-profit association "OpenOffice.org Deutschland e.V. (OOoDeV)" and have to pay German VAT (16%) in any case.

If there is anybody else willing to organize the orders from another country (with less or no VAT) I'll be glad to send him/her the designs - perhaps we could save some money.

I hope other NLs will post the order details here too.

_Sophie_, could you kindly tell us if you still think we should order
separate pins for project members.

I wanted to separate this discussion (and the decision about the final design) from the orders - therefore I started two threads, this one and "OOo-pins for Koper and other opportunities".

If you think it's better to combine it we can discuss it here as well. I don't want to repeat my arguments from the other thread - but we will not be able to produce more than 2 designs.

Just to show the probable quality of the printed pins (design D) I made an example with 400dpi (the quality I was told by one of the suppliers) and uploaded it there:
http://www.familie-dippold.de/Pin_D_400dpi.jpg

If you imagine this quality on a pin with 3 cm width I think the lines are quite o.k.

Best regards

Bernhard
