I pushed a fixup where "timeout=None" is the default, and I also introduced a STANDARD_TIMEOUT=10 seconds. I also removed timeout in one case when it could do without it. Plus I added description to inform the users about consequences of their action and what they might expect if they don't (all concise and brief).
