My concern was that the PostgreSQL JSONB round-trip changes a submitted float, such as 1.7e308, into a very large Python int. My PR adds a regression test to preserve the original float type after persistence. I'll verify the downstream serialization path, particularly the MessagePack behavior mentioned in the issue, to confirm whether this type conversion causes a concrete problem.
