[CALCITE-7725](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-7725) might be
more tricky than anticipated (and it seems it require other changes, e.g.
[CALCITE-7728](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-7728) ), shall we
move on with this PR, which seems in a good shape? (and then eventually a few
tests introduced here would be adjusted when those other tickets get done).
Or do you think those ones could be done quick enough, so this PR does not
wait too much?
