@oscerd Thanks for raising this. The purpose is to stop exposing Apache SCM credentials as Maven command-line arguments and to remove forced tag operations, while aligning the release guide. The PR's validation so far is bash syntax checks, git diff --check, and tests/release-utils/release-script-test.sh with synthetic Git/Maven shims; that regression test checks the command arguments and operation ordering. It does not execute the real Maven release plugin or publish artifacts/tags. I have not run a real release because it would mutate/publish through the actual release process. If you mean a specific non-publishing integration check for plugin behavior, please point to the safe command/setup you expect; the current PR does not claim a real release test. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
