Unfortunately I cannot as the problem doesn't exist in 3.0 (anymore?). I'm
pretty sure that the test failed without the patch before in 3.0.
Therefore I propose to just patch 2.2 and leave 3.0+ alone but add the unit
test. WDYT?
Also simplified the unit test for 2.2 branch.
