It's very late in the life cycle of 4.0 to be changing the driver, plus that's
significant surface area of change for new regressions and instability. In
order to fully verify it's correctness we'd end up having to delay 4.0 which
none of us want.
+1 to using latest 3.6.0 and considering the in-tree driver in whatever form it
takes for the next major.
