Can we add a test that creates the serialization failure in a small isolated example, so that in the future, when that test "breaks" because the problem is fixed we can consider removing these otherwise-unmotivated workarounds? Also need comments in the code where these workarounds appear so we don't lose them, and partly so that if we add more objects like this we can copy the idiom. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
