This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. Findings: this describes an incomplete feature on a deprecated code path, not a bug. Currently supported: retrieving the original partition column value with TimestampBasedKeyGen works on the new file group reader, which is the default read path in Hudi 1.x. Pending: the legacy 0.x Hudi Spark relation classes do not support this; per maintainer note these classes are deprecated and may be removed rather than fixed. Keeping open.
