This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage (HUDI-5316). Findings: the concern here — schema-on-read appearing first and no simple example — appears to have been addressed on the current documentation. The Schema Evolution page (https://hudi.apache.org/docs/schema_evolution) now leads with a 'Schema Evolution on Write' section (covering out-of-the-box column addition and type promotion, without requiring schema-on-read) ahead of 'Schema Evolution on read', and includes a dedicated 'Schema Evolution in Action' examples section.
