This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. Findings: this describes an incomplete feature, not a bug. Currently supported: tracking the list of columns indexed with the column-stats index for Spark (HUDI-8232 / PR #12529, via HoodieSparkIndexClient.createOrUpdateColumnStatsIndexDefinition). Pending: Flink and Java - BaseFlinkCommitActionExecutor.updateColumnsToIndexForColumnStats and BaseJavaCommitActionExecutor.updateColumnsToIndexForColumnStats are still no-op stubs (the Java stub explicitly references HUDI-8801).
