This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. This describes an incomplete feature, not a bug. Currently, Hudi's metrics reporters either emit to console/in-memory (non-persistent) or to an external metrics server (Graphite/Prometheus/Datadog/etc., requiring extra setup). The ask is a simple persistent reporter that writes metrics to the filesystem in JSON. Status: the linked PR #10010 was closed without being merged, and no filesystem-based JSON metrics reporter has landed on master, so the feature is still unimplemented.
