This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. Findings: This is an open debugging task, not a resolved bug. On current master the test remains disabled rather than fixed and re-enabled: TestHoodieBackedMetadata#testCleaningArchivingAndCompaction is annotated @Disabled (hudi-spark-datasource/hudi-spark/src/test/java/org/apache/hudi/functional/TestHoodieBackedMetadata.java:2896), and the Java-client counterpart TestJavaHoodieBackedMetadata#testCleaningArchivingAndCompaction is likewise @Disabled (hudi-client/hudi-java-client/src/test/java/org/apache/hudi/client/TestJavaHoodieBackedMetadata.java:2087).
