This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage (HUDI-9688). **Findings: still open.** The three cases listed are specific enough to implement directly, and the third is the most valuable: it asserts that `write.table.version` caps an auto-upgrade rather than being ignored. That is the same class of hazard as #17146 (HUDI-9701), which reports that an invalid write table version can corrupt a table - so this test would also guard that fix. **One thing worth flagging to avoid a mis-triage:** the PR linked in the description, #13669 (`[HUDI-9684] Add Upgrade/Downgrade Test Fixtures Framework`), **is merged** (2025-08-05). But that is the change this ticket was filed as a follow-up to - not a fix for it. Nothing indicates the follow-up work itself has landed.
