Following up on this — curious where things landed, or if this is open for someone else to help drive forward. Given the tie-in to RFC-100, happy to help push this along. Also wanted to float a few more use cases worth adding to the motivation, since they're a pretty natural fit for the column-group model: - column-level deletion (GDPR-style — drop or rewrite one column group instead of the whole table) - column-level archival (cold columns get their own storage/compaction policy, decoupled from hot ones) - column-level access control (file-level ACLs per column group instead of query-time masking) - column-level encryption (per-column-group keys, enabling crypto-shredding) These came out of some governance work I've been doing internally and I think they'd broaden the case for this RFC quite a bit. Happy to send a short addendum PR to the doc if there's interest. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
