Review Comment:
The current implementation relies on changing `expired` to mark the
cancelled state. Without incrementing `hrtimer->expired++`, the periodic timer
can not be cancelled.
However, the problem is that `hrtimer->expired` is not monotonic and can not
be used for version checking. This will be fixed in next patches.
