using Pinot's K1 weight-limit rule.
+///
+/// Raw values are sorted in small batches; serialized centroids retain their
existing sorted order. Both are

middle-quantile behavior, and the
+/// legacy verbose and small encodings preserve stored data and mixed-version
wire compatibility.

until a raw value is added.
+///
+/// Historical corrupted payloads remain opaque and byte-exact, with NaN
statistics. Their reported historical mass

Such an operation fails before

NaN bytes are safe for old readers.
+/// Unchanged historical fractional boundaries retain their original bytes,
including when configured compression

verbose weights and finite statistics when

t-digest 3.3 assertion-enabled reader and
+/// recompression limitation. Newly introduced unsupported fractional
endpoints are rejected.
+///
+/// Instances are externally serialized per aggregation or group key and are
not safe for concurrent mutation.

Review Comment:
   Fixed in
[4f6eb2edc8](https://github.com/apache/pinot/commit/4f6eb2edc83efcb7e8fe458b7e479b31f0da6272).
All constructors and factories now retain the legacy clamp for finite
compression values below 10, including zero and negative query parameters.
Non-finite and unsafe oversized settings still fail validation. The existing
regression now checks the same clamp across int/double constructors and both
factories.

Review Comment:
   Fixed in
[4f6eb2edc8](https://github.com/apache/pinot/commit/4f6eb2edc83efcb7e8fe458b7e479b31f0da6272).
Boundary repair now checks both residuals before changing centroid arrays and
rejects an unrepresentable first moment instead of clamping it. The 10@99,
extrema 0..100 payload retains moment 990, valid read statistics and original
bytes; nonempty mutation/merges fail before changing mass. The wrapper
validates and repairs the complete distribution before splitting infinity
tails, so an isolated finite-piece boundary does not reject a repairable
complete digest.

Pure decode preserves weighted boundary centroids; normalization runs on
actual mutation or rewriting. Native accumulator quantile/CDF reads match the
real 3.3 decoder for the weighted singleton, two-boundary examples and genuine
3.2-written weighted bytes. Regressions also cover reading before merge,
self-merge, copying and transfers into empty native/wrapped receivers.

using Pinot's K1 weight-limit rule.
+///
+/// Raw values are sorted in small batches; serialized centroids retain their
existing sorted order. Both are

middle-quantile behavior, and the
+/// legacy verbose and small encodings preserve stored data and mixed-version
wire compatibility.

+/// Serialized state keeps its first digest pending and allocates centroid
buffers only when another input must be

until a raw value is added.
+///
+/// Historical corrupted payloads remain opaque and byte-exact, with NaN
statistics. Their reported historical mass
+/// may be invalid; they cannot be mutated or mixed with another distribution.
Such an operation fails before
+/// changing aggregate mass, because neither invented statistics nor synthetic
NaN bytes are safe for old readers.

t-digest 3.3 assertion-enabled reader and

endpoints are rejected.

Review Comment:
   Fixed in
[4f6eb2edc8](https://github.com/apache/pinot/commit/4f6eb2edc83efcb7e8fe458b7e479b31f0da6272).
The PR description and migration notes now explicitly state that one corrupt
stored row can fail an entire query, even when all other segments are healthy,
and that merges have no automatic row quarantine or NaN fallback. The existing
rebuild/reingestion remediation remains the supported path; I kept the explicit
failure policy and added no configuration surface.
