Keep one Kafka 4 implementation and redirect legacy factory names and plugin allowlists to it; defaults, quickstart helpers, packaging and dependencies now use Kafka 4. Existing configs can stay unchanged during rollout. New configs use `org.apache.pinot.plugin.stream.kafka40.KafkaConsumerFactory`; Kafka brokers must be 2.1 or newer. The connector README covers rollout and rollback. Validation: 92 focused tests, a 66-module compile/install, shaded-plugin and launcher checks, and separate-process Kafka 3 → 4 → 3 checkpoint migration on Kafka 3.9.1 and 4.0.0 brokers passed. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
