Glen Mazza commented on ROL-2035:
---------------------------------
(Are you sure you want *both* JSPWiki and Roller? Maintenance headache, I
would think.)
I would just hack Roller for now, you can remove the math question and
implement other Intranet changes as you wish--do your own cost/benefit analysis
of each change. Roller has never been easier to work with. It doesn't look
like blog software is what you need, but some other form of intranet community
whiteboarding software for a team--my past two companies used different types
of products doing what you want (sorry, can't recall their names though.) But
if you can get this working, we'd be happy if you can add a page to the Roller
Wiki for others to know what needs to be done, perhaps in the future something
we can incorporate into Roller.
Your needs are too selective for Roller to implement on our side, and would add
too much complexity for our blog server. With many blog users expected to
ignore our commenting system and use the cross-Internet Disqus today anyway, as
of now at least, a full effort in expanding our commenting system beyond just
making sure what we presently have works wouldn't be worthwhile for us compared
to what we could otherwise spend the time on. Further, I would think there
already several workplace collaboration tools around already doing what you
want for there to be much demand for Roller to need to morph into this role
you're envisoning.

> For logged-in users Roller knows name and email. So the corresponding fields
> in comments should be auto-filled and maybe even non-editable.
> Also the "Please answer this simple math question" should be gone for
> logged-in users.
