Yan Fang commented on SAMZA-421:
--------------------------------

Had a simple test by removing timer metric and adding timer metric, can not see
the big difference in the CPU and Memory usage. The default setting in timer
metric is to report last 5 mins' average processing time every one minute.

I automatically generated wikipedia-raw messages and ran the hello-samza
WikipediaParse job locally. Having and not having timer metric both had CPU
usage around 10% and 300MB memory usage. Only observed that from the Activity
Monitory. Maybe I should use other tools to get a more accurate result?

Seems it's fine to enable the timer metric by default.

> by Martin in SAMZA-349, it's worth testing the performance before and after
