Thanks @wgzhao for filing the tracking issue for Issue 3 and for writing up the mechanism and scope so clearly — in particular that the snapshot path is unaffected and only columns added by `ALTER TABLE` while the job is running lose the value list. Agreed it is pre-existing and out of scope for this PR, and having it recorded is exactly what I was hoping for.
