@SEZ9 Thanks — I've added the three clarifications to the "Review status (F1-F8)" section of the PR description: F1 now states that neither parsing change is specific to this option and explains why it is behaviour-neutral for every other option (plus the mergeOptions callers), F2/F5 now spells out the exact chain the ordering test uses (HOCON string → ReadonlyConfig → option → toCompiledPatternMap), and F3 now answers the quote-character question deliberately (the dialect quoting wraps without escaping, so such names cannot come from catalog expansion; a dialect-specific character rule would be a follow-up).
